Time Travelers: An Art Adventure Through History
For Students Entering Grades 3-5
Grab your paintbrushes and buckle up—we’re traveling through time! In this exciting art class, students will become time-traveling artists, exploring how humans have created art throughout history. We’ll start in the caves with prehistoric paintings, sculpt like the ancient Egyptians, paint like Renaissance masters, and even experiment with modern art movements. Each stop on our journey will include hands-on projects inspired by famous artists and historical techniques. Get ready to explore the past, create in the present, and shape the future of art!
About the Instructor
My name is Bailey Jongejeugd, and I recently graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a degree in Art Education. I student-taught in the Harrisburg School District and worked at Color Me Mine and the Washington Pavilion’s Action Art and Science program. I’m passionate about teaching art in creative, hands-on ways. I plan to introduce students to nontraditional art-making through multimedia projects, like creating stickers or designing clothes. I also want to explore art history by recreating techniques from different eras. My goal is to inspire students to experiment, express themselves, and see art in new ways.
