About the Class
For Students Entering Grades 3-5
In this exciting painting exploration class, artists will dive into the endless possibilities of paint! Throughout the week, students will experiment with a variety of painting techniques and materials, including watercolor, acrylic, and mixed-media approaches. They’ll explore brushwork, color mixing, layering, and creative tools like sponges, splatters, and resist techniques.
While the focus is on discovery and playful experimentation, students will also work toward creating a final canvas painting to take home at the end of the week. This final artwork will be a subject matter of their choosing, and 100% original to the artist. Alongside their finished masterpiece, they’ll bring home a collection of smaller exploratory works—test pieces, technique samples, and expressive paintings—showcasing their artistic journey. This class is perfect for painters who love to explore, create, and get a little messy!
